Privacy policy
This policy explains how personal information submitted through this website is collected, used and protected, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who is responsible for your information
Grant Webster, acting in his personal capacity and based in Cape Town, South Africa, is the responsible party for personal information collected through grantwebster.me. You can contact him at grant@grantwebster.me.
What the enquiry form collects
The enquiry form collects your contact details (name, email address and, if you choose, mobile number), your company, company website, role and LinkedIn profile, and where you are based. It then asks what you would like to discuss, about the business (type, stage, revenue band and headcount), your situation, your timing, who else is part of the decision, how you heard about Grant and whether you would like an NDA. If the enquiry is for someone else, it asks for their name and role and whether they know about the enquiry. If you were referred, it asks who referred you, and you can choose to share a link to a deck or summary. It also records that you agreed to this policy.
The form has five short steps. Your details from the first step are sent when you move to the second, so Grant can still reply if you do not finish.
Why it is collected
Your information is used only to reply to your enquiry and, if you choose to go ahead, to discuss and arrange an engagement. It is not used for marketing, sold or shared with anyone for their own purposes.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept for 12 months from the date they are received and then deleted, unless the enquiry leads to an engagement, in which case the information is kept for as long as the engagement and any legal obligations require.
Who processes it
The enquiry form is operated by Formspree, which receives the information you submit and forwards it by email. Formspree stores data in the United States, so sending an enquiry means your information is transferred outside South Africa. Formspree acts as an operator on Grant's behalf and is bound to protect the information it processes.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, you may ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its use. Email grant@grantwebster.me and your request will be handled promptly.
If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
